We went on fact finding visits to other local community fitness rooms, received quotes and devised floor plans, examined costings for membership, induction procedures , membership and health forms to be completed by potential member when the project is up and running. The application submitted on 27/05/2015 was unsuccessful. Additional research has since been done and revised costs negotiated with the potential supplier (assisted by Highland Council and High Life Highland) . A new application has been completed but the project is currently on hold due to LCA’s concerns in regard to the future management of the facility. A joint meeting (LCA and LDCI Boards) will be held in February (date TBC) to discuss and resolve the issues. If the outcome is positive, the funding application can then be lodged.
