Resilient Communities Project

Funding towards a satellite phone and the power generator connections for the Community Centre (£2,500 in total) has been secured from SSE Resilient Communities Fund. On the top of this £2000 additional funding has been awarded by Foundation Scotland (from Lairg Windfarm) to cover the labour costs for installation.

The electrical connections in the Community Centre allowing the power generator to be used during any prolonged power outage are now in place. In case of emergency the Centre is a designated location for the community to seek shelter and information.

​The plan has been updated (September 2021) and distributed.

The plan has been completed in 2015 and copies were distributed to key locations in the area (Community Centre, GP Surgery, Primary School, Community Council as well as LDCI)

SSE 'Support in Emergency' information leaflets and SSE Priority Services Registration Forms are available in LDCI office.
