Winterfest 2025

Winterfest is an annual family event that takes place in Lairg a few weeks before Christmas. The day begins with a parade featuring reindeer from the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre pulling Santa and Mrs Claus in a sleigh along the Main Street to the Lairg Community Centre, where the festivities are based.

The next Winterfest will take place on Saturday 6th December 2025.

From 10 am:  Lairg Learning Centre workshops in the School house.  

Christmas Biscuit Decorating’ from 10am-11.30am (drop in) and ‘Christmas Crafts’ from 1-2pm.  Booking recommended. Click here to book:

12 pm: Church Bells Open Parade
 
12 pm:   Opening Parade of the Reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh from the bottom of the Main Street up to the Community Centre.  (Approx. 20 – 30 mins).  The reindeer will be at the back of the Community Centre for further viewing during the afternoon. Important!  Can we politely ask you to not bring your dogs with you to the Parade as they can spook the reindeer, and this will not please Santa!! 
 
12 – 4 pm:   Christmas Market in the Community Centre with music from Strathfleet Buttons & Bows

12 – 4 pm:   Refreshments in the Rifle Range (in the Community Centre) provided by LDCI  (Adults | £5 children | £3) 

12 - 4 pm:   Stirling Fun Fair & Food Van outside.

12.30 – 4 pm:   Santa Claus will meet children in his Grotto in the Conservatory within the Community Centre. £4 entry
 

12-2pm:   In the library:  Lairg Library in partnership with RSPB Scotland. Drop in for festive nature-themed crafts suitable for everyone! Make your very own Christmas decorations to take home and learn about our special winter wildlife by taking part in our treasure hunt with prizes to be won!  All materials and equipment will be provided.

12-4pm:  Hopscotch Magic on walkabout (showcasing circus skills and modelling balloons!) 

2-2.30pm – Hopscotch Magic show in the School Gym

4pm – Children’s Mini Raffle Draw & Grand Raffle Draw in the Main Hall

4.30pm – Santa has left the building!
